RealmChess ("we", "us", "the seller") operates the Realm Chess platform. By creating an account or continuing to use Realm Chess, you agree to these terms and confirm you are contracting with RealmChess. If you use the service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind that organisation; otherwise you confirm you are of legal age to accept these terms.

Realm Chess is an online chess platform offering live and bot games, puzzles, game analysis, study libraries (tactics, endgames, checkmates, strategy), ratings and leaderboards, and optional paid memberships ("Gold", "Ruby") that unlock additional features.

You must not misuse the service. In particular you must not:

• Use the service for anything unlawful, fraudulent, or to spam other players.
• Infringe anyone's intellectual property rights.
• Interfere with the security or operation of the service, including introducing malware, probing or scanning systems, or scraping the site at scale.
• Use chess engines, bots, or outside assistance in rated games against other players ("cheating").
• Reverse engineer, resell, redistribute, or circumvent technical limits of the service.

Ratings are calculated by the platform and cannot be edited by players. If a player is found to have cheated, their games may be overturned, rating points refunded to affected opponents, and their account suspended or banned.

You must keep your login credentials confidential and are responsible for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information (including your date of birth) and keep it up to date. Accounts belonging to players under 18 have messaging disabled for their safety.

We retain all ownership of the service and its intellectual property, including the software, design, documentation and branding. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service within your plan. Content you submit (such as chat messages or saved games) remains yours; you grant us a limited licence to host and process it solely to provide the service.

Paid memberships are billed securely through our payment provider, Stripe. Prices are shown in GBP and include any applicable taxes, which are calculated at checkout. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; you can cancel at any time and your membership stays active until the end of the period you have paid for. See our Refund Policy.

We work hard to keep Realm Chess available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free performance. The service is provided "as is" and we disclaim all implied warranties (including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose) to the fullest extent permitted by law.

We may suspend or terminate your access for material breach of these terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, cheating, or repeated or serious policy violations. When access ends, your saved games and account data may be deleted after a reasonable export window.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, consequential or special damages (including loss of profits, data or goodwill), and our aggregate liability is capped at the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, death or personal injury where the law does not allow it.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes will be handled by the courts of England and Wales. You may not assign these terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger or acquisition. We are not responsible for failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control. We may update these terms from time to time; continued use of the service after changes means you accept the updated terms.
